Policies & FAQ
Mumtalakat's core rules in brief: contact on the platform, offer deadlines, the commission, disputes, refunds and account deletion, with links to the full legal texts.
- The binding text is the legal documents themselves; this page summarizes the everyday rules.
- Contact details are blocked, an offer lapses after 72 hours, and confirmation is due within 7 days.
- Confirm every 60 days that your listing is still available so it stays visible.
- Settle it in the deal file first, then ask support for help from the «⋯» menu.
This page summarises the rules you meet every day. The binding text is the legal documents themselves:
Core rules
Section titled “Core rules”Contact stays on the platform
Phone numbers, emails, social handles and outside links are blocked automatically in messages, offers and attachments, even numbers written out in words. What happens on the platform stays on record and protects both sides in any dispute.
Offer deadlines: 72 hours to reply, 7 days to confirm
An offer lapses after 72 hours without a reply; both sides are notified, and the buyer can make a new offer at any time.
After an offer is accepted, the buyer has 7 days to confirm it so the contract can be prepared, with a reminder before the time runs out. If they don’t confirm, the acceptance lapses.
Confirm your listing is available every 60 days
Your listing stays visible as long as you confirm it is still available every 60 days from its last update. The last update is the latest of: publishing, refreshing your listing, an approved edit, or the «Yes, still available» button.
We remind you after 45 days; your listing never pauses less than a week after the first reminder, and a listing with an open deal or active buyers doesn’t pause. If it pauses for lack of confirmation, nothing is deleted, and it returns when you confirm.
Commission and circumvention
The commission is the project owner’s, due when the final deal contract is signed and they have received the deal amount or part of it. A deal with a buyer Mumtalakat introduced still owes the commission even if completed off the platform, for as long as the brokerage agreement runs and 24 months after it ends. Details in Commission protection.
Brokerage agreement: accept before 13 November 2026
Every project owner who signed an earlier version must accept the current one from the window in their dashboard before 13 November 2026. After that, a live listing pauses until its owner accepts; a deal already under way is not affected.
Settling disputes
- Settle it in the deal file first; most disagreements end with a clarification.
- Ask support for help from the «⋯» menu at the top of the deal file, or from Support.
- In a ضامن deal, the money stays held until a written agreement between you on the platform, or a final ruling.
Our team is neutral and relies on the deal record: conversations, offers, documents and signatures.
Subscriptions and refunds
- A subscription bought on the website is paid once for its term and does not renew automatically. We remind you before it ends so you can renew yourself.
- Golden guarantee: a full refund within 3 days of paying for your first subscription, from your billing page, no reason needed.
- A commission that is already due is not refundable.
The full terms are in the refund policy.
Deleting your account
From Settings → Account. Your account can be restored for 30 days, then it is deleted for good. If you have unpaid escrow fees, your request is recorded and deletion starts once they are paid. Records of completed deals are kept for the periods the law requires.
Do I pay to list my project?
A project owner picks one of the four plans, starting with a 10-day Featured trial, no card needed. Owners who already have the free plan keep it. See Plans.
Does the buyer pay anything?
The basics are free and unlimited: browsing, interests, offers, negotiation and alerts. The commission is not the buyer’s. In a ضامن deal the buyer transfers the deal amount only; refund fees are deducted if the deal is cancelled and the money returned.
How does payment work?
In new contracts carrying the ضامن clause, the buyer deposits the amount in a neutral escrow account held by ضامن; it is released to the owner after the transfer of ownership and the buyer’s confirmation, or after a 3-business-day objection window. Other contracts are paid by direct transfer with proof uploaded. Details in Contract, payment & handover.
Who sees my sensitive details?
The owner decides what is hidden until the NDA is signed, and hidden fields are never sent to a browser that isn’t entitled to them. Contact details are never revealed between the parties at any stage. See Privacy & anonymity.
Do I need an NDA?
For owners it is optional, and recommended to protect your figures. For buyers: if the project requires one, you sign it before sending your interest, and it needs a verified account. See NDA & disclosure.
Who signs the contract first?
Always the project owner, then the contract goes to the buyer to sign.
Does anyone from Mumtalakat attend our meetings?
A staff member may attend to follow up, and both of you see that they are there for as long as they attend; they don’t speak or write.
