Privacy & Anonymity
Who sees what on Mumtalakat and when: the visibility layers, the difference between an anonymous listing and hidden details, and how contact details stay hidden between the parties.
- Visibility has three layers: visitor, signed-in verified user, and someone who signed the NDA.
- An anonymous listing hides identity but not the price; the price has its own separate setting.
- Hidden fields are never sent from the server until the condition is met.
- Use «Preview as buyer» after each change to see what a buyer sees.
Privacy on Mumtalakat is staged: the project owner decides what is revealed, to whom and when, and the platform keeps contact details hidden between the parties at every stage.
Visibility layers
Section titled “Visibility layers”| Who | What they see |
|---|---|
| A visitor who isn’t signed in | The title (or the alias of an anonymous listing), the short description, sector and city. The asking amount is not shown. |
| A signed-in user | All of the above, plus the figures the owner hasn’t hidden. |
| A buyer who signed the NDA | What the owner chose to reveal after signing: the price, financial figures, brochure, video, and the real project name if the listing is anonymous. |
Anonymous listing ≠ hidden details
Section titled “Anonymous listing ≠ hidden details”Two separate controls:
- An anonymous listing hides the project’s identity: its name, original description and logo, showing an alias until the NDA is signed. It comes with Featured and above.
- Hiding sensitive details hides specific fields, such as price, revenue and profit, until the NDA is signed.
«Preview as buyer»
Section titled “«Preview as buyer»”A button on the project management page shows you your listing as a buyer sees it. Use it after every important edit to check that what you hid is really hidden.
Hidden on the server, not just on screen
Section titled “Hidden on the server, not just on screen”Hidden fields are never sent to the browser of someone who hasn’t met their condition (signing in or signing the NDA). A hidden price can’t be pulled from the page’s code, and a locked file can’t be downloaded early.
How much the parties know about each other
Section titled “How much the parties know about each other”- Name: before the contract, each side sees the other by first and second name only; the full legal name appears in the contract.
- Contact details: mobile numbers and emails are never revealed between the parties, at any stage. They are blocked automatically in messages, offers and attachments, even numbers written out in words.
- Meetings: held inside Mumtalakat. If a Mumtalakat staff member attends to follow up, both sides see that they are there for as long as they attend.
